If the underlying health plan approves treatment for one insured partner whose network uses MultiPlan, Trinity Behavioral Health can separately review the other uninsured partner for its couples sponsorship model. The approval applies only to the enrolled member. MultiPlan is a network rather than the insurer, and Trinity sponsorship is a separate admissions arrangement for the other eligible partner.

Does one approval cover both partners?
No. An approval or authorization applies to the enrolled member under the underlying health plan. It does not automatically cover an uninsured spouse or partner, even when the insured person’s plan uses MultiPlan.
Who actually approves the insured partner’s treatment?
The underlying insurer, employer plan, or plan administrator controls benefits and authorization. MultiPlan provides network access but does not itself insure members or pay claims.
Can Trinity sponsor the uninsured partner?
Potentially. Trinity may separately review an eligible uninsured or non-covered partner for sponsorship. Sponsorship does not add that person to the health plan or transfer the insured partner’s benefits.
Can we enter couples rehab together?
Potentially. If both partners are clinically appropriate for couples rehab, they may be able to enter treatment together. Each person is assessed individually.
Can Trinity help us travel to California?
Yes. Trinity can help eligible couples coordinate flight arrangements, arrival planning, ground-transportation coordination, travel logistics, and discharge travel planning when applicable. Exact assistance should be confirmed before booking travel.
Depending on clinical need, treatment may include detox, residential rehab, PHP, or IOP.
