Trinity Behavioral Health

What if My UMR Plan Approves Me but My Spouse Is Uninsured?

If your UMR-administered health plan approves treatment for you, Trinity Behavioral Health can separately review your uninsured spouse for its couples sponsorship model. The approval applies only to you as the enrolled member. It does not automatically create coverage for your spouse. Trinity sponsorship is a separate admissions decision and should be confirmed before travel.

Verify Your PPO Benefits and Ask About Couples Sponsorship.

Does my approval cover my spouse too?

No. An authorization or benefit approval under an employer health plan applies only to enrolled eligible members. If your spouse is uninsured or not enrolled, Trinity must separately evaluate sponsorship eligibility.

What role does UMR play?

UMR is a third-party administrator. The employer plan determines benefits, and plan-specific authorization requirements can apply. Approval for one member does not transfer benefits to another person.

Can my spouse still enter treatment with me?

Potentially. If your spouse qualifies for sponsorship and both people are clinically appropriate for couples rehab, you may be able to enter treatment together.

Can Trinity help us travel to California?

Yes. Trinity can help eligible couples coordinate flight arrangements, arrival planning, ground transportation coordination, travel logistics, and discharge travel planning when applicable. Exact assistance should be confirmed before booking travel.

Each partner is assessed individually. Treatment may include detox, residential rehab, PHP, or IOP.

Approval for one member does not cover an uninsured spouse. Sponsorship, admission, travel assistance, and payment are separate determinations.
