UMR is a third-party administrator, so the actual employer plan’s benefits, network, and authorization rules must be checked. Sponsorship is a separate Trinity admissions arrangement for an eligible uninsured or non-covered partner.

What does UMR benefit verification check?
Trinity can review active eligibility, the employer plan’s network, covered addiction-treatment services, deductible, copay, coinsurance, out-of-pocket responsibility, and plan-specific prior authorization or predetermination requirements.
Does verification guarantee approval?
No. Verification is not the same as authorization, medical-necessity approval, or a guarantee of payment. UMR’s current provider tools emphasize that authorization requirements are plan-specific.
When is my partner reviewed for sponsorship?
Admissions can separately review the other partner when it is clear that person is uninsured or not enrolled under the health plan. Sponsorship does not add anyone to the plan or transfer benefits.
Can we still plan couples rehab together?
Potentially. Eligible couples may be able to enter couples rehab together when clinically appropriate. Depending on need, treatment may include detox, residential rehab, PHP, or IOP.
