Yes. Trinity Behavioral Health can verify the insured partner’s underlying PPO benefits before separately reviewing the other eligible partner for Trinity’s couples sponsorship model. When a plan uses MultiPlan, the network name alone does not determine coverage. Trinity must identify the actual insurer or plan administrator, verify the member’s benefits, and then separately evaluate sponsorship for an uninsured or non-covered partner.

Why does Trinity need the underlying payer?
MultiPlan is a provider network, not the insurer. The underlying health plan controls active eligibility, covered services, authorization rules, claims, and cost sharing. The MultiPlan logo can help identify network access, but it is not enough by itself to confirm addiction-treatment coverage.
What does benefit verification review?

Can we still plan couples rehab together?
