Yes. Eligible couples may be able to travel from New York to California for treatment when only one partner has qualifying Empire Blue Cross PPO coverage. Empire is now branded Anthem Blue Cross and Blue Shield/Anthem Blue Cross in New York. Trinity Behavioral Health can verify the insured partner’s benefits, may separately sponsor the other eligible partner, and can help coordinate travel and flight arrangements.

Does the uninsured partner need Empire coverage?
No. If the second partner is not enrolled under the plan, Trinity may separately review that person for sponsorship. Sponsorship does not make the partner an insured member.

- Coverage and authorization for the recommended treatment
