If one partner has a qualifying Empire Blue Cross PPO plan, Trinity Behavioral Health can verify that insured partner’s addiction-treatment benefits and may separately sponsor the other eligible partner through Trinity’s couples sponsorship model. The uninsured spouse is not automatically covered by the insurance plan. Sponsorship is a separate Trinity arrangement, and Trinity can also help eligible couples coordinate travel and flight arrangements to treatment in California.

What if only one partner has Empire Blue Cross PPO?
Trinity accepts Empire Blue Cross and can review the insured partner’s current plan for active eligibility, network status, covered behavioral-health services, cost sharing, and any prior-authorization requirements. New York Anthem guidance states that behavioral-health inpatient and outpatient authorizations can be required, depending on the member’s plan and service.
Does Empire Blue Cross cover the uninsured spouse?
