Yes. Trinity Behavioral Health can verify the eligible partner’s TriWest-administered benefits before separately reviewing the other partner for Trinity’s couples sponsorship model. TriWest or TRICARE eligibility applies only to the eligible beneficiary. Sponsorship is a separate Trinity admissions arrangement for an eligible uninsured or non-covered partner and should be confirmed before travel.

What does TriWest verification check?
Verification can include the beneficiary’s current eligibility, program option, network status, covered treatment, referral requirements, and prior-authorization rules. TriWest states that these requirements vary by beneficiary type, program option, diagnosis, and type of care.
Does verification guarantee authorization?
No. Verifying eligibility and benefits is not the same as obtaining a required referral or authorization. Current TriWest materials list prior authorization for several higher levels of behavioral-health and substance-use-disorder care.
When is my partner reviewed for sponsorship?
Admissions can separately review the other partner when it is clear that person does not have their own qualifying benefits. Sponsorship does not create TriWest or TRICARE eligibility and does not transfer benefits.
Can we still plan couples rehab together?
Potentially. Eligible couples may be able to enter couples rehab together when clinically appropriate. Each partner receives an individual assessment.
