Step 1: Verify the insured partner’s BCBS PPO
Trinity can review active eligibility, network status, addiction-treatment benefits, cost sharing, and any authorization or precertification requirements. BCBS plans vary by state licensee and plan design, so the exact policy must be checked.
Step 2: Explain that only one partner is insured
Tell admissions whether the other partner is completely uninsured or simply not enrolled under the BCBS policy. If that person is an eligible dependent, their own benefits can be verified. If not, Trinity may separately consider them for sponsorship.
Step 3: Ask about Trinity sponsorship
Trinity’s sponsorship model is separate from insurance dependent coverage. It does not add the uninsured partner to the BCBS plan and does not mean BCBS pays for both people.
Step 4: Complete the couples-program clinical review
