Does AmeriHealth have a special couples-rehab benefit?
Do not assume so. Coverage is generally based on each person’s behavioral-health benefits, the clinically appropriate level of care, and the member’s individual eligibility and authorization requirements.
Can each partner have different costs?
Yes. Even when both people are enrolled under the same family plan, individual and family deductibles, accumulators, copays, coinsurance, and authorizations can differ.
Can prior authorization apply?
Yes. AmeriHealth provider guidance states that residential treatment, PHP, and IOP can require preapproval or precertification. That requirement must be checked for each member.
